Job Summary
The Technical Support Engineer provides expert aircraft systems and structural support to ATR operators in Asia-Pacific, ensuring safe, reliable operations. This role interfaces with airline maintenance teams and ATR engineering to troubleshoot issues, support fleet reliability, and drive continuous product improvement.
Responsibilities
- Deliver timely and accurate technical support and guidance to customers, ensuring high satisfaction
- Respond to technical queries on aircraft systems including Avionics/Electrical, Hydromechanical, Propulsion, Air Conditioning, Cabin, and structural ATA chapters via CRM and email
- Provide troubleshooting guidance for complex aircraft system issues to support safe operations
- Collaborate with ATR headquarters systems and structure specialists in France to resolve technical challenges
- Investigate, diagnose, and follow up on technical issues reported by operators to maintain fleet reliability
- Contribute to updates and improvements in Technical Publications such as Line Maintenance Manuals and MPDs based on in-service feedback
- Participate in Aircraft on Ground (AOG) technical support on a rotational basis, providing remote expert assistance during weekends and public holidays
- Provide occasional on-site technical assistance, training, or remote support to airline maintenance personnel
- Apply knowledge of aircraft wiring, schematics, and standard practices to support troubleshooting and maintenance guidance
- Utilize understanding of aviation regulations (EASA, FAA, local authorities) to ensure compliance in technical support activities
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years experience in aviation engineering or maintenance, preferably with ATR aircraft
- Proficient in English, especially technical English, to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Knowledge of ATR -600 series avionics systems
- Familiarity with aircraft structures, structural repair principles for metallic and composite materials
- Experience with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods
- Knowledge of Leonardo / Airbus drawing sets
- Proficiency in French to facilitate communication with ATR France office
Other Information
- The role is based in Singapore at ATR Eastern Support (AES), the primary hub for Asia-Pacific technical support
- The position requires participation in AOG duty approximately one week per month, including weekends and public holidays
- Occasional travel to customer sites for on-site technical assistance may be required
