Job Title: SENIOR/TECHNICANL SOURCING ENGINEER
Job Description:
Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Procurement Engineer. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement process of mechanical and electro-mechanical commodities, driving cost efficiencies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven ability to lead strategic sourcing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing & RFQ Management:
Lead the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process for mechanical and electro-mechanical commodities, ensuring alignment with customer specifications or proposing viable alternatives.
Act as the Quote Leader for assigned customers, taking full responsibility for Bill of Materials (BOM) submission.
Drive cost reduction and implement alternative sourcing programs for both new and existing projects to optimize expenditure. - Supplier Relationship Management:
Manage the entire supplier base, focusing on key performance indicators such as Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Contract finalization.
Liaise closely with suppliers and internal departments to facilitate and secure First Article Approval (FAA). - Systems & Project Management:
Oversee the system setup for all approved parts and suppliers, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
Lead and manage procurement-related projects from initiation to completion. - Technical & Risk Management:
Demonstrate the ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Contribute actively to the company's risk management process in accordance with established procedures and responsibilities. - Continuous Improvement:
Perform any ad-hoc duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience:
Proven experience in procurement, preferably with a focus on mechanical and electro-mechanical commodities.
Prior experience with sheet metal and machining procurement, along with an established supplier base, is highly preferred. - Technical Skills:
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic components is preferred. - Software Proficiency:
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Oracle and/or SAP modules is preferred. - Personal Attributes:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
