We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Flavourist to lead the development and optimisation of flavour formulations for food and beverage applications. This role will focus on flavour creation, customer-driven customisation and technical support across key accounts, ensuring products meet performance, regulatory and commercial requirements.
This is a senior-level role suited for an individual with strong formulation expertise, commercial awareness and the ability to work cross-functionally within an MNC environment.
Key Responsibilities
Flavour Development & Formulation
- Develop and refine flavour formulations for food and beverage applications, including sweet and savoury categories
- Conduct bench work, trials and stability testing to ensure product performance
- Optimise flavour profiles based on customer briefs and market trends
Technical Support & Customer Engagement
- Collaborate with Sales and Business Development teams to support customer projects
- Present flavour solutions and technical insights to clients
- Provide troubleshooting support for reformulation or production challenges
R&D & Innovation
- Drive innovation through new flavour creation aligned with market trends
- Maintain awareness of raw material developments and regulatory changes
- Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards in Singapore and relevant export markets
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate formulation records and technical documentation
- Support internal audits and quality assurance processes
- Work closely with regulatory teams to ensure product compliance
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Flavour Chemistry or related discipline
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in flavour creation within a flavour house or food ingredient company
- Proven experience in technical flavour development within an MNC environment preferred
Technical Competencies
- Strong knowledge of flavour raw materials and compounding techniques
- Experience in sweet flavour development preferred
- Understanding of food application systems and regulatory standards
- Hands-on laboratory experience with pilot and production scale-up exposure
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and sensory evaluation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines
- Confident communicator with stakeholder management experience.
