Job Description

Senior Technical Business Analyst – Payments & Integration

Role Summary

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst with strong domain knowledge in the payments landscape and hands-on understanding of integration technologies such as SFTP, APIs, and security certificates. The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, product teams, vendors, and technical teams to define, analyze, and deliver payment-related integration solutions in line with regulatory and architectural standards.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

  • Engage with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for payments initiatives.
  • Translate business requirements into functional and non-functional specifications, including interface contracts and data mappings.
  • Prepare BRDs, FRDs, TSDs, interface specifications, process flows, and use cases.
  • Support gap analysis, impact assessment, and solution option evaluation.

Payments Domain

  • Work across payment message flows including (but not limited to):
  • SWIFT MT / MX (ISO 20022)
  • RTGS, ACH, Cross-border payments
  • pacs.008, pacs.009, MT103, MT202/202 COV
  • Understand end-to-end payments lifecycle, including clearing, settlement, nostro accounts, charges, and investigations.
  • Ensure requirements comply with SWIFT standards, SR2026, and regulatory expectations.

Integration & Technical Analysis

  • Define and validate integration patterns using:
  • SFTP (file-based payments, batch processing)
  • APIs (REST/SOAP, synchronous/asynchronous flows)
  • Support design and analysis of:
  • File formats, message schemas, canonical models
  • API contracts, request/response structures
  • Work with architects and developers to ensure correct interpretation of technical requirements.

Security & Certificates

  • Understand and support payment security mechanisms including:
  • Digital certificates (X.509)
  • TLS/mTLS, encryption, signing
  • Key management and certificate lifecycle (issuance, renewal, expiry)
  • Support integration requirements related to authentication, authorization, and secure data transmission.

Testing & Delivery Support

  • Define acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and test data.
  • Support SIT, UAT, and production validation.
  • Assist in defect triage, root cause analysis, and resolution.
  • Support cutover, migration, and post‑go‑live activities.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Act as a liaison between business, IT, vendors, and external counterparties.
  • Support discussions with external banks, clearing systems, and service providers.
  • Participate in workshops, walkthroughs, and requirement sign-off sessions.

Required Skills & Experience

Mandatory Skills

  • More than 10 years of experience as a SeniorBusiness Analyst / Technical Business Analyst.
  • Strong knowledge of the payment's domain.
  • Practical understanding of:
  • SFTP-based integrations
  • API-based integrations
  • Security certificates and encryption concepts
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

Technical Knowledge

  • REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, XML
  • Batch vs real-time processing
  • Data mapping and transformation
  • Basic understanding of middleware / integration platforms
  • SDLC, Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical teams
  • Attention to detail, especially in financial and regulatory contexts
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex dependencies
