InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay is seeking a dedicated and hands-on Duty Engineer to support the Chief Engineer in ensures that the hotel's equipment is operated in accordance with IHG standards and ensure maximum efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Your Day to Day
PEOPLE
Responsible for engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel, hotel property, restaurant and grounds.
Responds to engineering and maintenance concerns.
Performs and/or monitors maintenance and preventative maintenance projects.
Responds to all building related safety concerns.
Maintains departmental compliance with hotel maintenance procedures.
Supports hotel departmental maintenance programs and executes daily, weekly and monthly checklists.
Assists in the supervision of maintenance associates.
Assist management in specifying proper supplies and equipment for operations.
GUEST EXPERIENCE
Deals with guest related concerns.
Maintain the guest rooms, public space, and back of the hotel areas in good quality condition by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and tiling to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel.
Maintain current Hotel information to be able to provide information to guests
FINANCIAL RETURNS
Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on energy management, preventative maintenance, and capital planning.
RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
Must possess knowledge of Environment and Sustainability.
WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
Diploma in Electrical Engineering with two years of experience in general building maintenance and/or construction or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialised expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields.
Hotel experience preferred.
Professional certification and licence if required by law.
Should have understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry concepts.
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
Must be available to respond to emergencies when not physically at the job site.
Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.
Ability to work a variety of varying schedules.
Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.
Ability to solve practical problems.
Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers.
Ability to grasp, bend, and stoop push or pull heavy loads weighing up to 75 lbs. and lift and/or carry.
Punctuality, regular and reliable attendance.
