Job Summary:
Reporting to the Global Tax Director (HQ) and with a dotted line to the CFO APAC ME, the employee will play a strategic role in supporting the business growth for the APAC region as Tax Director of the APAC perimeter by assessing and identifying tax risks and optimization opportunities, consulting with the business on tax impacts of new developments, provide transactional tax advice as well as tax support to finance projects and act as day-to-day tax interface with HQ tax department and the local subsidiaries.
Acting as an expert in Tax, s/he will be the primary point of contact with Finance Directors of PR subsidiaries in the APAC Perimeter (the Subsidiaries).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement tax strategy for the APAC perimeter, including planning, risk assessment, and optimization opportunities.
- Consult with business units on tax impacts of new developments and provide transactional tax advice.
- Lead and manage the APAC tax community to ensure effective output across subsidiaries.
- Supervise local application of group transfer pricing policy in collaboration with HQ and local teams.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation (e.g., CFC rules, Pillar 2) and assess business impact.
- Review and control effective tax rate and cash tax for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Anticipate and manage tax risks, ensuring accurate reporting to HQ.
- Support subsidiaries during tax audits, disputes, and litigation, providing technical guidance.
- Assist HQ and subsidiaries on tax aspects of cash/debt management, dividend distribution, and financing structures.
- Establish relationships with external advisors and manage fees for tax-related services.
- Act as primary contact for tax authorities within APAC.
- Provide technical insights on compliance obligations and ad hoc tax advisory matters.

- Key Stakeholders: APAC subsidiaries, Finance Services team, Business Transformation team, external tax advisors, tax authorities, and HQ tax teams.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required
- 810 years experience in a chartered accounting firm or corporate tax/finance department.
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, law, finance, or related discipline.
- Current membership in an internationally recognised accounting body.
- Strong expertise in international tax laws, transfer pricing, and customs/excise matters.
- Proven experience managing tax issues across APAC.
- Advanced Excel skills and excellent communication abilities.
- High integrity, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and manage teams and build strong stakeholder relationships.
Desirable
- Experience in FMCG sector.
- Familiarity with JD Edwards, tax automation systems, Power BI, and RPA tools.
- Exposure to multi-jurisdictional tax laws (Asia, France, USA).
- Technical accounting knowledge and experience with statutory reporting and consolidation.
