We are hiring a Senior Systems Engineer (Unix/Linux) to support and manage mission-critical infrastructure within a high-availability enterprise environment. This role offers the opportunity to work across complex Unix/Linux systems, ensuring stability, security, and performance across production and disaster recovery environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Unix/Linux systems (including Solaris and Linux) across production, DR, and test environments
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and security hardening
- Manage backups, disaster recovery (DR) planning, and regular DR testing
- Monitor system performance and carry out capacity planning and optimisation
- Provide L2/L3 support for incidents, problem resolution, and root cause analysis
- Support change, release, and configuration management processes
- Manage UAT environments and ensure system readiness for deployments
- Contribute to infrastructure improvements and project delivery
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and system records
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Unix/Linux system administration within enterprise environments
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Unix (Solaris preferred) and Linux systems
- OS hardening, patching, and system upgrades
- Backup, disaster recovery, and system monitoring tools
- Experience with scripting (Bash/Shell) for automation
- Exposure to SAN/storage environments is an advantage
- Familiarity with middleware platforms and data centre operations is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting skills with experience in production support (L2/L3)
