Job Description

Your duties encompass installing, commissioning, and offering round-the-clock support for the company's implemented products and solutions. Additionally, you are tasked with mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate should be a collaborative team player capable of comprehending requirements and environments, with the technical expertise to guide the team through successful implementation endeavours.

Responsibilities:

Project Delivery

a. Lead the design, build, and implementation of Tier-1 turnkey projects for telecommunication clients.

b. Install, configure, test, and commission telecommunication and IT solutions, ensuring smooth transition from project handover to operations.

c. Prepare technical documentation, implementation guides, security hardening checklists and troubleshooting procedures.

Technical Support

a. Provide 24/7 technical support (on a rotational or standby basis) for mission-critical systems, ensuring minimal downtime.

b. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across systems, networks, and firewalls.

c. Conduct Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing (VAPT) in line with security policies, ensuring vulnerabilities are remediated promptly.

d. Collaborate with global vendors to escalate, track, and close technical issues.

Client & Vendor Engagement

a. Act as a client-facing technical lead, able to understand requirements, environments, and constraints.

b. Conduct technical workshops, solution briefings, and compliance reviews for stakeholders.

c. Liaise with global vendors on system updates, integration, and security advisories.

Leadership & Mentorship (For Senior position)

a. Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior engineers.

b. Ensure that team members follow engineering best practices, security standards, and documentation guidelines.

c. Support knowledge transfer within the team through structured learning sessions.

Requirements:

Qualifications/Certifications

a. Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, or relateddiscipline with specialization in Communications Engineering, Computer &Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, or DataAnalytics.

b. Having any of the following certifications is an advantage:

i. BroadWorks Certified Network Engineer

ii. Red Hat Certified System Administrator

iii. VMware Certified Technical Associate

iv. Any SBC certifications

v. Cisco Certified Network Associate

vi. ITILv4 Foundation

Technical Skills

1. Firewalls & Security

a. Hands-on experience in installing, configuring, and monitoring WAF, LoadBalancers, IDS/IPS, and Endpoint security

b. Good understanding of Security concepts such as Network Security, SSL,IAM, Secrets management, Data encryption, Data masking, Code scanning,Container image signing, OWASP Top 10

2. Operating System

a. Hands-on experience in installing, configuring, hardening and troubleshootingRed Hat, Ubuntu, Linux Operating System

3. Virtualization

a. Hands-on experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting VMWareand other virtualized environments.

4. CI/CD

a. Hands-on experience in implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for application deployments

b. Experience in implementing and enforcing DevSecOps practices

c. Hands-on experience in managing Container orchestration platforms(Kubernetes, EKS, AKS, GKE)

d. Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or other IaC tools

e. Hands-on experience to automate deployment workflows using tools such asJenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline

5. Voice

a. Strong understanding of SIP protocol, RTP, and related signalling standards

b. Experience with SBC platforms such as Oracle (Acme Packet), Ribbon, Audiocodes, or Metaswitch

c. Familiarity with 4G/5G Core Network elements and interfaces

6. Application

a. Deep understanding of Web/Application servers such as Tomcat, WildFly, WebLogic, or JBoss

b. Experience in managing and integrating RESTful APIs and API Gateways

c. Good understanding of how Java-based applications work, including JVM tuning, resource optimisation, and troubleshooting

d. Knowledge of HTTP, SSL/TLS, reverse proxy, and load balancing concepts

e. Knowledge in scripting for automation (Bash, Python, or PowerShell)
