About the Role
For our client, we are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Senior Manager, Supply Chain with strong expertise in vendor sourcing, supplier selection, procurement negotiation, and cost reduction initiatives within manufacturing and industrial environments.
This role will play a key leadership function in driving procurement strategy, supplier performance, commercial negotiations, inventory optimisation, warehouse operations, and end-to-end supply chain efficiency. The ideal candidate must possess strong manufacturing industry experience and a proven track record in achieving cost savings through strategic sourcing, vendor consolidation, negotiation, and operational improvement initiatives.
Candidates with strong exposure in manufacturing, electronics, precision engineering, medical devices, industrial, semiconductor, or production environments will be highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the full spectrum of Supply Chain operations including Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Material Planning, Inventory Control, Warehousing, Logistics, and Distribution functions
- Drive vendor sourcing, supplier qualification, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and vendor performance management initiatives
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers on pricing, payment terms, contracts, service levels, and long-term supply agreements to achieve cost reduction and operational efficiency targets
- Develop alternative sourcing strategies and supplier diversification plans to reduce supply risks and strengthen procurement competitiveness
- Identify and implement procurement cost-saving initiatives through vendor consolidation, strategic sourcing, pricing negotiations, and operational improvements
- Manage procurement planning and supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply, quality compliance, and delivery performance
- Oversee warehouse operations including inventory accuracy, stock control, cycle counts, warehouse optimisation, and material handling governance
- Manage logistics operations, transportation vendors, freight forwarders, and third-party service providers to ensure cost-effective operations
- Drive inventory optimisation and material planning strategies to minimise excess inventory and improve forecast accuracy
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Production, Engineering, Finance, QA, and Management teams to support manufacturing and operational requirements
- Lead and mentor Supply Chain, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to improve operational capabilities and performance
- Prepare KPI reports, supplier performance reviews, procurement analysis, inventory reports, and operational performance metrics
- Support operational transformation, process improvement, business continuity planning, and supply risk management initiatives
Requirements
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant Supply Chain and Procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role
- Strong manufacturing industry experience is highly preferred, particularly within: Manufacturing Precision Engineering, Electronics, Medical Devices, Semiconductor, Industrial Manufacturing Production Environments
- Proven experience in: Vendor Selection & Supplier Qualification Strategic, Sourcing Procurement Negotiation, Price Negotiation & Cost Reduction Supplier, Relationship Management, Contract Negotiation, Inventory Management, Warehouse Operations and Material Planning & Forecasting
- Strong track record in achieving procurement savings, supplier optimisation, and operational cost reduction initiatives
- Experience managing freight forwarders, logistics providers, and transportation vendors
- Strong ERP / SAP / MRP / WMS systems exposure preferred
- Strong analytical, negotiation, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing Procurement, Supply Chain, or Warehouse teams
- Candidates with stable manufacturing company tenure and strong operational leadership experience will be highly preferred
