Senior Statutory Audit Manager (Shipping + Big4)

Our client is a leading European ship owner with their group HQ based out of Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

. Own group consolidation and reporting, ensuring everything is accurate, timely, and aligned with internal policies and accounting standards

. Be the go-to person for technical accounting matters, especially around areas like acquisitions, disposals, restructuring, and more complex balance sheet items

. Work closely with auditors and external advisers, leading conversations on accounting positions and ensuring smooth audit cycles

. Oversee statutory and tax reporting across different markets, making sure everything is compliant and well-coordinated

. Drive improvements in controls and governance, tightening processes where needed and building consistency across entities

. Play a key role in ongoing finance transformation, including system enhancements and automation initiatives

. Lead and develop the team, while also working cross-functionally with finance and non-finance stakeholders across the business

Key Requirements

. Chartered Accountant (or equivalent), with a Big 4 audit foundation

. Minimum 10+ years of experience across audit and in-house finance roles

. Strong grounding in IFRS and experience dealing with technical accounting topics

. Comfortable operating in a group structure with multiple entities and jurisdictions

. Experience working with ERP systems

. Someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, but also able to engage senior stakeholders

. Prior experience improving processes, controls, or helping scale a finance function
