  • Inpatient Ward Operations: Provide round-the-clock nursing care, manage patient admissions, complete initial clinical assessments, and manage bed turnover within acute inpatient medical-surgical wards.

  • Direct Patient Care: Conduct comprehensive physical assessments, administer oral/IV medications, perform complex wound dressings, and execute evidence-based nursing interventions for surgical and medical inpatients.

  • Pre- & Post-Operative Management: Prepare patients for surgical procedures, monitor post-anesthesia recovery, manage surgical drains, administer acute pain protocols, and prevent post-op complications.

  • Clinical Escalation: Monitor vital signs to identify subtle signs of patient deterioration and initiate immediate emergency resuscitation or clinical escalation protocols.

  • Multidisciplinary Coordination: Formulate individualized inpatient care plans and coordinate daily multidisciplinary ward rounds with doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and medical social workers.

  • Shift Leadership: Function as Nurse-in-Charge during assigned shifts, delegate ward duties, direct nursing workflows, and ensure handover protocols between shifts.

  • Mentorship & Quality Control: Guide, supervise, and orientate Enrolled Nurses, junior staff, and nursing students while participating in ward quality improvement projects and clinical audits.

Job Requirements

  • Professional Registration: Active registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) with a valid Practising Certificate.

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.

  • Clinical Experience: Minimum 1-2 years (Staff Nurse) or 4+ years (Senior Staff Nurse) of clinical experience in an acute inpatient medical-surgical setting.

  • Core Competencies: Strong clinical acumen in acute inpatient care, effective communication, sound critical thinking, and the ability to thrive in a high-turnover ward environment.

  • Shift Readiness: Must be willing and physically able to work 3-rotating shifts (Morning, Afternoon, Night), including weekends and public holidays.
