Job Description

Roles and R esponsibilites

Clinical Care

  • Assess patients, develop and implement individualised care plans, and monitor clinical progress.
  • Provide prescribed nursing care, assist with procedures and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Recognise clinical deterioration or treatment-related complications and escalate promptly.
  • Educate patients and caregivers, promote self-care and support continuity of care.
  • Use clinical equipment, technology and resources safely and effectively.

Specialised Oncology Services

  • Undertake duties within assigned specialised oncology services based on training, competency and operational needs.
  • Coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team and ensure safe handovers across care settings.
  • Maintain competency in the relevant procedures, services and escalation protocols.
  • Participate in service coverage, quality improvement and patient education activities.

Professional Practice

  • Supervise and support junior staff and students, and assume the Staff Nurse in-charge role when assigned.
  • Participate in quality improvement, education, research and innovation activities.
  • Maintain required clinical competencies and pursue continuous professional development.
  • Undertake other duties assigned by Nursing leadership.

Other requirements: Candidates who have relevant working experience and demonstrated competency in at least two of the following areas will be preferred:

  • Administration of chemotherapy
  • Apheresis procedures
  • Clinical triage
  • Care of patients in a short stay ward
  • Central Venous Access Device (CVAD) care
  • Tele-triage
  • Management of CancerLine
  • NCIS On the Go community services
  • Cellular therapy
  • Radiotherapy nursing

Qualifications And Competencies


  • Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board.
  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognised institution approved by the Singapore Nursing Board.
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years of post-registration nursing experience, preferably in oncology or a related specialty.
  • Experience in at least two specialised skills or services listed in Section 3.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage clinically complex patients and work independently across different care settings.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
  • Compassionate, accountable and committed to patient safety.
  • Adaptable and willing to cross-train in additional specialised oncology services.
