About the Role
Filtrona is modernizing its global IT foundation to enable smarter, faster, and more resilient operations across manufacturing, logistics, and commercial sites. The Network and OS Senior Specialist will take direct ownership of planning, coordinating, and delivering infrastructure projects, ensuring that modernization initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively.
This role focuses on hands-on delivery of infrastructure initiatives, including:
- Infrastructure modernization (servers, storage, virtualization, and data centers)
- Network upgrades and cloud migration
- Cybersecurity enablement for infrastructure
- Digital workplace initiatives and platform deployments
The Senior Specialist, Network and OS will:
- Work closely with business and IT teams to define requirements, plan execution, and resolve technical challenges
- Coordinate vendors, managed service providers, and internal IT teams to ensure timely delivery
- Monitor project progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure operational continuity during implementation
- Ensure all projects meet agreed performance, reliability, and compliance standards
- Provide hands-on support where needed, including testing, validation, and rollout activities
This is a delivery-driven role, focused on making Filtrona's IT infrastructure modernization a reality, with practical execution, problem-solving, and operational ownership at its core.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Leadership & Delivery
- Take ownership of planning, coordinating, and delivering global and regional IT infrastructure projects across manufacturing, logistics, and office environments.
- Define clear project scope, objectives, milestones, and success criteria, ensuring alignment with business needs and IT modernization priorities.
- Drive projects to completion on time, on budget, and with high quality, proactively resolving technical and operational issues.
- Oversee multiple projects concurrently, managing dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines across sites.
2. Governance, Risk & Quality Management
- Implement and maintain practical project governance frameworks, risk logs, and change control processes.
- Ensure deliverables meet corporate standards, security requirements, and compliance obligations.
- Provide regular, actionable project updates to leadership, highlighting issues, risks, and mitigation plans.
3.Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors, driving alignment and issue resolution.
- Coordinate across functions including infrastructure, cybersecurity, applications, and operations to ensure smooth project execution.
- Manage vendors, systems integrators, and telco partners, ensuring delivery quality, SLA adherence, and cost efficiency.
4. Financial & Resource Management
- Develop and track project budgets, forecasts, and resource allocations.
- Monitor financial performance, identify deviations, and take corrective actions to maintain budgetary control and value delivery.
5. Transformation & Infrastructure Modernization
- Lead cloud migration, infrastructure upgrades, and network modernization initiatives, ensuring scalability, security, and minimal disruption.
- Support business continuity and operational readiness during transitions at plants, logistics hubs, and offices.
- Drive adoption of modern collaboration and digital workplace tools, enhancing usability and productivity.
6. Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Sharing
- Contribute practical improvements to project management processes, templates, and delivery best practices.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and lessons-learned sessions to capture improvements and enhance future project execution
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years experience managing end-to-end IT projects across multi-site, manufacturing, or global environments.
- Proven track record in delivering large-scale initiatives such as WAN/LAN upgrades, data centre consolidation, server refresh, or cloud migration projects.
- Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks, cybersecurity fundamentals, and enterprise network technologies.
- Experience in managing third-party vendors and service providers, including telco and infrastructure partners.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile preferred.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills across technical and business audiences.
- Comfortable operating in a global, matrixed environment with distributed teams and multiple time zones
