Job Description

The FairPrice Group Chain Business Unit (FPG SC BU) or Grocery Logistics of Singapore Pte Ltd (GLS) is a key logistics service provider to NTUC FairPrice Group and external customers. Our services provided include inbound logistics, warehouse and fulfilment and last mile delivery to the stores, customers and B2C home delivery.

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for optimizing inventory management and supply chain efficiency within a dynamic grocery retail environment by analyzing data from internal retail systems (e.g., ERP, POS, warehouse management) and synthesizing external insights, including market trends, macroeconomic factors, and micro-level supplier or consumer behavior. The position leverages advanced analytics to identify patterns, forecast demand, and recommend actionable strategies to balance stock levels, minimize waste, and ensure product availability. By collaborating cross-functionally with operations, logistics, and merchandising teams, the role drives data-informed decisions that enhance operational performance, reduce costs, and align inventory flow with customer demand and organizational objectives. Expertise in translating complex datasets into clear, impactful insights is critical to support the retailer's goals of maximizing profitability and delivering a seamless customer experience.

Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyze inventory data from internal systems (ERP, POS, warehouse management) to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Integrate external data (market trends, economic indicators, supplier performance) to contextualize inventory flow challenges.
  • Generate actionable reports and dashboards to communicate insights to stakeholders.

Inventory Optimization:

  • Develop inventory insight and forecasting model to optimize stock levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
  • Recommend strategies to improve inventory efficiency

Process Improvement:

  • Identify inefficiencies in supply chain processes and propose solutions to streamline workflows.
  • Monitor KPIs (e.g., stock turnover, fill rate, shrinkage) and track impact of implemented strategies.

Market & Consumer Insights:

  • Analyze micro-level consumer behavior (e.g., seasonal trends, promotions) and macroeconomic factors (e.g., inflation, supply chain disruptions) to anticipate risks/opportunities.

Requirements

  • EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or certifications (e.g., APICS CSCP, Six Sigma) are a plus.
  • RELEVANT KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEIndustry Experience: 35 years in supply chain analytics, inventory management, or retail operations, preferably in grocery/FMCG.
  • Prior experience in managing supply chain or inventory optimisation and/or supply chain control tower

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL) and statistical software (Python). hands-on experience with Cloud-based tools/technology.
  • Analytical experience with the ability to work with large amounts of data, including specific experience with BI tools, visualization, relational data structures, and financial modelling.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and retail-specific platforms (e.g., inventory modules, demand planning tools).
  • Strong understanding of inventory metrics (In-stock, OTIF, days-on-hand) and forecasting methodologies.

Business Acumen:

  • Knowledge of grocery retail dynamics.
  • Ability to interpret external data (e.g., commodity prices, weather patterns) impacting inventory flow.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong storytelling and visualization skills to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working in cross-functional teams.
