Our client is seeking a Senior Software Safety Engineer to support system and software safety activities, ensuring systems meet required safety standards and are approved for operational use. You will work closely with project and product teams across design, development, and testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop system safety programme plans, hazard analyses, risk assessments, safety reports, and hazard logs
- Facilitate system safety workshops to identify hazards and define safety requirements
- Coordinate with internal teams and customer safety review boards to endorse safety requirements prior to design freeze
- Perform Safety Verification & Validation (V&V) and document evidence in hazard logs
- Support safety assessments and secure approval from company and customer safety boards
- Provide regular safety status updates and reports to project and department stakeholders
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in a software project environment (e.g. system engineering support, software QA/QC)
- Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience using JIRA or issue/task tracking tools
- Working knowledge of MIL-STD-882 and IEEE 12207
- Ability to read and understand software design documents and test reports
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Team-oriented with good presentation and coordination abilities
