Role Description:
- Own and develop backend services primarily built in Node.js with a modern SQL datastore
- Architect scalable APIs, event-driven flows, and asynchronous processing pipelines
- Design and optimize database schemas and query performance for high-traffic systems
- Lead infrastructure decisions across AWS, containers, CI/CD, logging, monitoring, and autoscaling
- Collaborate closely with frontend teams (React) and product to define clear integration contracts
- Strengthen application security, authentication workflows, and data protection practices
- Drive services from prototype to production and eventually to global scale
- Debug and resolve issues across the entire stack (infrastructure backend API frontend)
Qualifications:
- Advanced experience building backend services with Node.js
- Strong fundamentals in SQL, schema design, indexing, and query optimization
- Hands-on experience deploying and scaling systems on AWS (compute, networking, storage)
- Deep understanding of system design, microservices, distributed systems, and performance tuning
- Familiarity with complex product features such as real-time messaging, media handling, or social interaction mechanics
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to deliver production-ready features end-to-end
- Ability to troubleshoot across the full technical stack
Nice to Have:
- Experience with frontend frameworks such as React
- Background in authentication, payments, or multi-tenant architecture
- Exposure to internationalization, multilingual UX, or accessibility
- Understanding of DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, or cloud cost optimization
- Interest in scaling fast-paced startups from MVP to global product
