We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Mobile) to be deployed on a government agency project, operating under GovTech-aligned engineering practices and security standards. In this role, you will work as part of a cross-functional engineering team to design, modernise, and enhance mobile systems that support public-facing digital services.
This is a hands-on engineering role suited for individuals who enjoy solving complex technical problems, collaborating with stakeholders, and delivering production-grade systems in regulated environments.
As a Senior Software Engineer (Mobile), you will contribute to the delivery and continuous improvement of mobile applications and supporting systems for a government agency. Your responsibilities include:
Working closely with software engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to improve development efficiency, system reliability, and operational resilience.
Assessing existing technical landscapes, workflows, and processes to identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Applying relevant engineering practices such as CI/CD, SRE, and modern DevOps approaches in alignment with GovTech Core Engineering Products and standards.
Contributing to transition roadmaps that guide systems from current-state architectures to target-state solutions.
Communicating technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including providing structured recommendations and diagrams where appropriate.
Supporting proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives and early-stage implementations to validate proposed solutions before full-scale rollout.
Collaborating with fellow engineers to share knowledge, tools, and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
At least 6 years of experience as an individual contributor in software engineering roles.
Strong hands-on experience with React Native experience with Kotlin and Swift is an advantage.
Exposure to Node.js-based backend services is a plus.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Proven experience delivering or supporting large-scale systems in enterprise or government environments.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both engineering teams and government stakeholders.
Experience working in highly secured or regulated environments (e.g. government systems, banking, critical infrastructure) is highly desirable.
