About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and continuously improve the systems and workflows that support business operations at scale. This role operates at the intersection of software engineering, business processes, and compliance, with a strong emphasis on reliability, auditability, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and Java or Scala
- Build and maintain scalable APIs and microservices
- Translate business and product requirements into reliable technical solutions
- Write clean, secure, and well-tested code aligned with engineering best practices
- Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and architecture decisions
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and ensure system stability
- Support incident management, root cause analysis, and post-incident improvements
- Integrate and support third-party systems (CRM, finance, data providers, compliance platforms)
- Contribute to improvements in development processes, tooling, and standards
- Maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks
- Ensure systems are well-documented, maintainable, and production-ready
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js
- Solid experience developing enterprise-grade applications using Java or Scala
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automated testing
- Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server)
- Working knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DocumentDB)
- Proven capability in performance tuning, debugging, and backend optimisation
- Comfortable working across technical and business stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Background in SaaS, data platforms, fintech, or other regulated industries
- Exposure to compliance‑driven environments and enterprise integration patterns
- Prior experience supporting production systems in a regional or global setup
