Position Purpose

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Backend Developer - Java to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining end-to-end software solutions. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality code that aligns with the Group's architecture guidelines and business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement scalable backend applications using Java with a deep understanding of Core Java concepts (Collections, Multithreading, Streams API).
• Translate functional requirements and business needs into detailed technical specifications and architecture designs.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Perform unit testing, integration testing, and participate in peer code reviews to ensure high standards of quality.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and performance bottlenecks in production and non-production environments.
• Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Retrospectives) and collaborate closely with Business Analysts and Product Owners.
• Execute (CI/CD) continuous integration and deployment pipelines to ensure a smooth delivery calendar.
• Stay updated with emerging technology trends and propose improvements to existing systems to enhance scalability and robustness.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Engineering, or a related field with 6+ years applied experience
• Strong proficiency in Java (Version 11 or higher) with a deep understanding of Core Java concepts (Collections, Multithreading, Streams API).
• Extensive experience with the Spring Ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security) and Hibernate.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Extensive experience with Jenkins, Ansible, or other CI/CD automation tools.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular or React).
• Knowledge in designing and implementing Microservices architecture.
• Exposure to event-driven architecture and messaging tools such as Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Prior experience working within the Banking or Financial Services industry.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with global stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing business requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
