Job Description
Role Mission: Drive automation for our software tests for systems undergoing significant changes in design. Fully reap the benefits in test coverage, speed and confidence that automation offers.
Accountabilities:
- Take over ownership of the existing performance test scripts from vendors
- Schedule, design and drive performance tests
- Improve efficiency of performance tests
- Improve test reliability and time taken for performance test runs
- Improve performance of applications in terms of user experience and satisfaction
Responsibilities:
- Designing, implementing and optimising processes for performance testing
- Designing performance tests, with details around desired environment set up, areas to test, expected results and explanations for deviations
- Establishing and tracking metrics for application and service performance to drive improvement and accountability
- Work with stakeholders across engineering and QA teams to ensure alignment on goals
- Driving application and services performance improvements through collaboration with respective engineering teams
- Design ways to track and report the results of and efficacy of performance test runs
Areas of Impact:
Stakeholders: QA, Engineering, Program/Delivery Management, Product- Decision Rights: Strongly advise Automation tools and license purchase, strongly advise KPIs for the performance of applications and systems
- Resources: 10 automation resources from vendors as peers, some existing licenses for BrowserStack, LoadRunner
Ideal Track Record:
- Delivered performance test runs measured in the multiples of tens, if not hundreds, demonstrable performance improvements for systems, services and/or applications
- Designed performance test plans for web and mobile applications, with clear ability to explain environmental considerations in said plans.
- Designed dashboards for reporting on performance test results and stats to stakeholders
- Designed or improved processes to include performance tests regularly
