Job Description

The Senior Social Worker provides clinical and professional leadership in the delivery of high-quality interventions and services to individuals, families and communities under the care of Viriya Family Service Centre (VFSC). They are responsible for managing complex cases with risk and safety concerns, providing supervision to the team, and driving the implementation of evidence-based programmes. They play a critical role in uplifting professional practice standards and fostering collaborative partnerships with stakeholders.

Clinical Practice and Case Management

  • Lead intake and case management for highly complex cases involving multiple risk factor
  • Formulate, implement, and review holistic assessment and intervention plans for individuals and families
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and ensure timely case closures upon reaching service outcomes
  • Prepare case notes, social reports, and /or documentation in a timely manner
  • Lead staff in responding to crisis situations based on organisational standard operating procedures

Supervision and Professional Practice Development

  • Provide structured clinical and case management supervision to Assistant Senior Counsellors and/or Social Workers.
  • Mentor staff in developing their professional competencies and guide their career progression.
  • Support staff in implementing and calibrating their self-care plan.
  • Perform practice audits in adherence to practice requirements and standards.
  • Facilitate learning sessions and/or trainings to support practitioners in their competency development.
  • Implement standards of care, organisational policies, procedures, and programmes.

Programme, Community Development and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based groupwork, programmes and/or community development initiatives.
  • Conduct environmental scans and community assets and needs assessments to inform strategic service planning.
  • Mobilise community resources and lead high-impact community development initiatives across the agency.
  • Foster strong partnership and collaboration with stakeholders in delivering timely, relevant and quality services and support to the individuals, families and communities.
