The Senior Social Worker leads complex casework management, provides clinical supervision to junior social workers, and contributes to service quality improvements. This role combines clinical expertise with practice guidance, service evaluation, and inter-agency collaboration to advance practice standards within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Manage complex and high-risk cases involving complex family dynamics, child protection, or vulnerable adults.
Provide clinical supervision, practice mentoring, and guidance to Social Workers and Associate Social Workers.
Design, implement, and review specialized social intervention programmes and therapeutic group work.
Lead multidisciplinary case conferences and represent the agency in external case consults with government bodies and community partners.
Contribute to practice evaluation, quality assurance, and clinical audits to maintain organizational practice standards.
Facilitate training sessions, practice discussions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives for professional development.
Assist in identifying emerging community needs to inform service development and policy recommendations.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, or Graduate Diploma in Social Work.
Experience: Minimum 4-6 years of practice experience in social work or family service settings, with demonstrated experience in handling complex cases.
Professional Registration: Registered Social Worker (RSW) / Accredited Social Worker (ASW) with SWAAC.
Competencies:
Advanced clinical assessment, crisis management, and therapeutic intervention capabilities.
Formal training or proven capability in clinical supervision and staff mentoring.
Deep knowledge of local social policies, family legislation, and community ecosystems.
Strong analytical skills, stakeholder management skills, and leadership drive.
