Job Description

The Senior Social Worker (SSW) is responsible for facilitating change and improving the lives of individuals, families, community facing transitional challenges through the provision of direct services.

SSW will act professionally and be accountable to both the client and the organization to ensure that intervention plans are developed and implemented based on professional judgment and knowledge. Furthermore, SSW will supervise social workers and case workers to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with organizational standards. SSW will also be in responsible for handling high-risk client cases.

Responsibilities / Major Activities

  • Supervise and approve case assessment and outcome plans, and case closure
  • Provide consultations for assessment of cases with risk issues
  • Support or co-lead review of complex and risk cases in the company
  • Supervise subordinates in the follow through of intervention plans, especially for complex and or risk cases
  • Provide supervision of groupwork and community work through modelling, observations and debrief etc
  • Function as a Team Lead or Covering Team Lead in Mental Health Service
  • Ensure KPIs will be met within the timeline as per funding agencies requirement
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by HOD and Supervisor

Qualification & Skills

  • Possess Degree in Social Work or Degree with a Graduate Diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution

Other Information

Relevant Experience

  • Accredited as Registered Social Worker with Singapore Association of Social Workers
  • At least 4 years or more working experience as a Social Worker
  • At least 2 years experience in managing crisis intervention and supervising the junior social workers

  • People-Oriented, good interpersonal and relation building skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Analytical ability & problem-solving skills to analyse information quickly and accurately, and formulate decisions and make recommendations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with various IT platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective report writing skills
  • Team Player
