Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Shipping Specialist to manage end-to-end shipping operations for sensitive biological and chemical materials, including ADC (Antibody-Drug Conjugates) and mAb (Monoclonal Antibodies).
The role requires strong expertise in international trade compliance, permit applications, and coordination with government authorities, as well as the ability to manage customer-facing logistics projects. The ideal candidate will ensure compliant, efficient, and reliable shipment execution while driving continuous improvement in shipping processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and execute daily shipping operations, including:
- Import and export of biological, chemical, and controlled materials (e.g., ADC, mAb, Cell)
- Freight arrangement (air/ocean/express) and carrier performance management
- Shipping documentation accuracy
Manage end-to-end shipment lifecycle, including:
- Shipment planning, scheduling, and tracking
- Coordination with freight forwarders, brokers, and cold chain providers
Handle regulatory compliance and permit applications, including:
- Import/export permits with relevant government agencies (e.g., HSA, NPark customs, strategic goods control where applicable)
- HS code classification and trade compliance validation
- Ensuring adherence to GDP (Good Distribution Practice) and IATA regulations for dangerous goods (if applicable)
Act as a key interface with customers and internal stakeholders:
- Support customer projects involving complex international shipments
- Provide logistics solutions, timelines, and risk assessments
- Resolve shipment issues proactively and communicate effectively
Drive process improvement and operational excellence:
- Analyze shipping data (cost, lead time, compliance issues)
- Identify trends and implement improvements
- Review SOPs and provide training to internal teams and external partners
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry), Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
- 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in biopharma or chemical logistics
- Proven experience handling ADC, mAb, or other high-value / temperature-sensitive biologics shipments
- Demonstrated project management experience, especially in client-facing logistics operations
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
- High level of accountability, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure
Strong knowledge of:
- International trade compliance and customs regulations
- Import/export permit application processes with government agencies
- HS code classification and Incoterms
- Cold chain logistics and handling requirements
- Experience working with government authorities and regulatory bodies for shipment approvals
