Job Summary
The basic role of a Security & Safety Officer is to perform general safety duties to protect lives and properties, including preventing and deterring crimes within the premises. This includes creating security and fire awareness among employees and guests.
Responsibilities
- Perform security and fire safety duties in compliance with standard regulations to maintain a safe environment
- Protect people, guests, employees, and company assets by monitoring premises and responding to security threats
- Conduct preliminary investigations of incidents during duty and prepare detailed reports
- Respond promptly to security and fire safety requests from guests, departments, or employees
- Monitor CCTV feeds at the Facility Control Centre (FCC) to detect and report irregularities
- Operate and oversee FCC systems including CCTV, car park computers, time attendance, fire alarm panels, lift supervisory panels, emergency intercoms, and PA paging systems
- Apply knowledge of all security and fire life safety emergency procedures for the building
- Identify and report suspicious behavior such as loitering or unsecured rooms to prevent security breaches
- Prevent mischief, vandalism, and disturbances on company property through active surveillance and intervention
- Verify contractor credentials and issue visitor passes before granting access to the premises
- Perform additional tasks as required to support business needs and fulfill the security role
