A leading research-driven organization is seeking a Senior Scientist to join their innovative drug discovery team. This role is designed for a PhD-level scientist who excels in disease target validation and the design of complex pharmacological studies.
As a key contributor to the R&D pipeline, you will lead antibody screening and drive drug discovery projects from early-stage research toward clinical application. This is a high-impact position where you will participate in strategic discussions and have the autonomy to propose new drug discovery initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Pharmacological Execution: Design and conduct in vitro and in vivo studies to evaluate the efficacy and mechanism of action (MoA) of novel therapies.
- Target Validation: Lead disease target validation efforts utilizing advanced molecular biology techniques.
- Project Leadership: Spearhead antibody screening processes and manage drug discovery projects to advance the company's pipeline.
- Strategic Input: Contribute to high-level strategic discussions regarding program advancement and pipeline development.
- IP & Publications: Draft patent applications and scientific publications in collaboration with internal IP specialists.
The Talent
The successful candidate will be highly skilled in:
- Molecular Biology: Expertise in generating stable cell lines (overexpression, knockdown, knockout), PCR/qPCR, Western blotting, and ELISA.
- Cell Culture: Proficient in handling various mammalian cell lines and advanced cell culture techniques.
- Analysis & Flow Cytometry: Experience with flow cytometry and cell sorting is preferred, alongside proficiency in GraphPad Prism and Excel.
- In Vivo Expertise: Hands-on experience with in vivo pharmacological models is highly advantageous.
Qualifications
- Education: Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience within a pharmaceutical or biomedical research environment.
- Drug Development Knowledge: A solid understanding of the drug development lifecycle, including PK/PD principles.
- Attributes: A strong passion for medical innovation and a commitment to addressing unmet medical needs.
- Communication: Excellent command of English (written and spoken) with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
