Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious postdoctoral scientist to develop novel base chemistry of high commercial value for Life Science Tool (LST) applications. You will work with various GIS PIs with focus on various aspects of Life Science Tool development to polish the development that meet the requirement defined by the management.

  • Work with main PI of Laboratory of Diagnostic Accessibility to develop novel base chemistry and assay for LST application.
  • Support main PI to develop business case in relevant grant application to support the development.
  • Interact with GIS PIs to develop, define and fine-tune new ideas for LST development through your capability in base chemistry development.
  • Lead the LST development as an innovation project under GIS Fellowship of Spin-off.
  • Any other duties assigned by main PI.

The Innovation Project Leader is a scientist-entrepreneur who has demonstrated a capability to advance research ideas into a path for commercial development. You will have the vision and drive in developing something innovative, in protecting intellectual property as evidenced by patent filing in an academic institution or industry, to make an impact in medical care and economic outcomes. You will work closely with the business development team and other mentors in the A.STAR ecosystem.

Essential Qualifications

  • Relevant Ph.D. in Chemistry, Bioengineering or related field (conferred or expected within 6 months).
  • At least 3-5years of industry experience in the field of research and development of LST.
  • Entrepreneurship experience is highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills proven ability to explain complex concepts to multidisciplinary teams.
