The Role
As a Sales Engineer, you will be the technical bridge between our sales team and prospective customers — enterprises, AI companies, cloud service providers, and sovereign AI initiatives. You'll translate complex GPU infrastructure capabilities into compelling, customer-specific solutions, and play a critical role in driving revenue across the APAC region.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role at the intersection of AI infrastructure, cloud computing, and enterprise sales.
Responsibilities
- Technical Pre-Sales: Lead technical discovery calls, solution architecture sessions, and product demonstrations for enterprise prospects evaluating bare metal GPU cloud and AI infrastructure solutions.
- Solution Design: Architect custom compute solutions using GPU server portfolio (NVIDIA H200, H100, A100, L40S) and the proprietary OS platform, tailored to customer AI/ML, HPC, and inference workloads.
- RFP & Proposal Support: Develop technical responses to RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires. Produce solution architecture documents, deployment plans, and technical proposals.
- Customer Engagement: Serve as the trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle — from initial scoping to proof of concept (POC) to post-deal handoff to deployment teams.
- Product Feedback Loop: Channel market insights, competitive intelligence, and customer requirements back to Product and Engineering teams to shape the product roadmap.
- Partner & Ecosystem Collaboration: Work closely with NVIDIA, Lenovo, and data center partners on joint technical engagements and go-to-market initiatives.
- Enablement: Build and maintain technical sales collateral, demo environments, and internal training materials for the broader sales team.
- Events & Thought Leadership: Represent Hydra Host at industry conferences, trade shows, and webinars (e.g., GTC, SuperComputing, CloudFest).
Requirements
- 5+ years in a Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Pre-Sales role within cloud infrastructure, data center, GPU/HPC, or enterprise IT.
- Deep technical knowledge of GPU computing (NVIDIA ecosystem preferred), bare metal servers, cloud architectures, and AI/ML infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with Linux environments, networking (including high-speed interconnects such as InfiniBand or RoCE), and data center operations.
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX) and how they map to infrastructure requirements.
- Strong understanding of cloud deployment models — bare metal, IaaS, hybrid, multi-cloud — and the competitive landscape (AWS, GCP, Azure, CoreWeave, Lambda).
- Excellent presentation, communication, and storytelling skills — able to translate deep tech into business value for both technical and executive audiences.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, globally distributed startup environment with high autonomy.
- Willingness to travel within APAC (and occasionally globally) for customer meetings and events.
Nice to Have
- Experience selling to AI labs, inference platforms, sovereign cloud programs, or hyperscale customers.
- Knowledge of data center power, cooling, and colocation economics.
- Background in NVIDIA DGX, HGX, or OVX platforms.
- Understanding of Kubernetes, Slurm, or other GPU orchestration and scheduling systems.
- Existing relationships within the APAC AI/cloud ecosystem.
- Mandarin language skills (given Hydra Host's Chinese-backed data center client base).
What We Offer
- Ground-floor opportunity at a rapidly scaling AI infrastructure company backed by NVIDIA.
- Competitive base salary + commission/variable compensation.
- Equity participation.
- Exposure to cutting-edge GPU and AI infrastructure technology.
- A global, diverse team working on one of the most important infrastructure challenges of the decade.
- Flexibility to work remotely within APAC with periodic travel.
