Job Description

MR. ROBOT specialises in developing intelligent robotics and automation systems that enhance operational performance in retail, logistics, and commercial environments. By combining advanced AI, robotics engineering, and system integration, we deliver practical, scalable solutions that help businesses innovate operational workflows and prepare for tomorrow's automation demands.

Focused on real-world deployment rather than prototypes, Mr. Robot's offerings are designed to integrate seamlessly with existing systems-bringing robotics out of the lab and into productive use.

Driving Southeast Asia's automation revolution with AI robotics for partners, integrators, and industries ready to scale.

Senior Robotics Integration Engineer to lead and drive the deployment, integration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of humanoid robotic systems across real-world environments including manufacturing, logistics, and retail.

This role sits at the intersection of robotics, AI, software, and field deployment, with a strong focus on turning advanced robotics capabilities from works in the demo into works reliably in the field.

You will take ownership of robotics integration and deployment activities, diagnose complex system and edge-case failures, develop robust recovery solutions, and work closely with Robotics, AI, Software, and Operations teams to continuously improve robot performance and deployment

reliability.

Job Responsibilities:

Robotics Deployment & Integration

  • Lead the deployment, integration, testing, and commissioning of humanoid robotic systems at customer sites.
  • Configure and integrate robotics hardware, software, sensors, networking, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Take ownership of deployment readiness and ensure robots achieve reliable operational performance.
  • Develop and improve deployment procedures, tools, and integration practices to support scalable deployments.

Edge-Case Handling & Recovery Logic

  • Analyse complex failure modes across manipulation, perception, control, and task execution pipelines.
  • Diagnose issues such as missed grasps, misaligned placements, object misclassification, and unexpected robot behaviours.
  • Design and implement robust retry mechanisms, fallback strategies, state machines, and recovery behaviours to improve task success rates.
  • Identify recurring field issues and translate them into scalable engineering solutions.

Orchestration & Secondary Development

  • Develop and enhance orchestration logic coordinating VLA modules, robot behaviours, home-pose synchronisation, and recovery flows.
  • Implement practical solutions when model outputs or perception results are unreliable.
  • Adapt and customise robotics behaviours for different customer environments, applications, and operational requirements.
  • Contribute to improving the architecture and robustness of the robotics deployment stack.

Perception Robustness & System Reliability

  • Debug and improve perception components, including object and stock classification, OCR/label reading, and object detection.
  • Enhance system robustness against real-world variations such as lighting conditions, occlusion, and product diversity across deployment sites.

System Testing & Field Support

  • Work with ROS2/AimRT on Jetson Orin AGX/Thor, including joint state monitoring, force/torque sensing, trajectory execution, and safety interlocks.
  • Lead system-level debugging and root-cause analysis covering software, hardware, networking, sensors, and robot behaviour.
  • Diagnose deployment issues including latency, joint ordering, communication faults, sensor drift, and system connectivity.
  • Implement telemetry, logging, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure failures are traceable and measurable.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership during customer-site deployment, commissioning, and production implementation.

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Senior Robotics Integration Engineer, Robotics Engineering, AI, and Operations teams throughout deployment activities.
  • Support continuous improvement of deployment reliability through debugging, testing, and field feedback.
  • Translate field observations and customer requirements into actionable engineering improvements.
  • Share deployment learnings and technical insights to improve future robot hardware, software, AI models, and deployment processes.
  • Help establish best practices for robotics integration, testing, commissioning, and field reliability.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4 - 7 years of experience in robotics, automation, system integration, or related technical roles.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or C++.
  • Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 concepts (nodes, topics, services). Coursework or project experience is acceptable.
  • Practical, debugging-first mindset with the ability to diagnose why robots fail in specific deployment scenarios.
  • Basic understanding of state machines, control loops, or robot kinematics.
  • Comfortable working with Linux environments and Docker.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working across different deployment contexts and industries.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Exposure to computer vision, OCR pipelines, or classical control (impedance/force control) is an added advantage.
  • Background in game AI or behaviour trees is an added advantage for orchestrator and recovery logic development.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and support field deployments when required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in AI or robotics is highly desirable.

You'll only be the right candidate if you are aligned to our values and culture:

  • Innovation: Challenge the status quo, embrace change, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively and contribute to shared success.
  • Excellence: Strive for high standards in both delivery and customer experience.
  • Integrity: Act with honesty, transparency, and accountability.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.
  • Motivated to make a meaningful impact within a high-performing team

If you believe you match our values and have the experience we're looking for, then apply! We can't wait to hear from you.
