Senior Rice Trader

Description

An established global agribusiness trading house is seeking an entrepreneurial and commercially driven Rice Trader to manage and grow its physical rice trading portfolio across Asia and/or global markets.

Role

Reporting to Head of Rice. The role will manage and grow a physical rice trading book, across key origin and destination markets, executing FOB/CFR strategies to deliver consistent, risk-managed P&L. Develop and maintain relationships with millers, exporters and buyers, identify arbitrage opportunities, manage price and credit risk, and work closely with operations and shipping to ensure smooth execution and margin optimisation.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in business or a related discipline. 10+ years of physical agricultural commodities trading experience, ideally in rice, with strong knowledge of major origins and destination markets. Proven P&L track record, solid understanding of freight and trade finance structures, strong commercial instincts, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced trading environment. An established market network is highly advantageous.
