Role Overview
This role is suited for an experienced robotics researcher with strong expertise in Embodied AI and robot learning, particularly in Learning from Demonstration (LfD) for contact‑rich manipulation and skill acquisition. The position focuses on applied research and development, covering algorithm design, experimental validation, and system prototyping. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of intelligent robotic capabilities by integrating motion, force/torque sensing, and multimodal perception, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust and industry‑ready solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Perform applied research and development in Embodied AI for robotics, with emphasis on Learning from Demonstration for complex manipulation tasks
Design, run, and evaluate experiments to collect and analyse demonstration data for training intelligent robotic behaviours
Apply machine learning and deep learning approaches to improve robot control, adaptability, and decision‑making
Convert research outputs into functional prototypes and deployment‑ready robotic solutions for industrial use
Contribute to longer‑term capability development in Embodied AI and advanced robotic systems, including humanoid robotics
Where relevant, apply computer vision and image processing techniques to enhance perception and object recognition
Stay current with emerging algorithms, tools, and methodologies, and incorporate state‑of‑the‑art advances into ongoing work
Work closely with engineers, researchers, and system developers to deliver integrated solutions across hardware and software domains
Engage with industry stakeholders to support technical discussions, provide expert input, and align solutions with practical requirements
Requirements
PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline
Strong foundation in robot learning, Embodied AI, Learning from Demonstration, or related AI‑driven robotics methods
Hands‑on experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and/or PyTorch
Proficiency in Python and C++ for robotics and machine learning development
Experience working with ROS2, simulation platforms (e.g. Isaac Sim), and real robotic hardware
Exposure to industrial automation or manufacturing environments is advantageous
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical teams and present research outcomes clearly
Demonstrated enthusiasm for robotics research and continuous learning
A proactive, resilient mindset with strong commitment to solving complex technical problems
