A Technical Accounting Specialist in (Re)Insurance manages accounting for premiums, claims, commissions, and settlements related to reinsurance treaties and facultative business. They ensure accurate reconciliations with brokers and cedants while maintaining compliance with financial and regulatory reporting requirements. The role also involves supporting system testing, validating accounting outputs, and assisting in implementation or enhancement of (re) insurance systems to ensure accurate processing.
Responsibilities
· Responsible for the preparation of quarterly statement of accounts, reserves, and various calculations (commissions, portfolios, cash calls, etc.)
· Maintain cash call register and Treaty premium register.
· Monitor cash call and XOL claims recoveries and ensure Loss Advices are sent out in a timely manner
· and follow up on the settlement of claims.
· Reconciliation of treaty accounts, Aged Debtors Report and chase for settlement when necessary.
· Prepare quarterly MDP settlement.
· Assist in the preparation of the treaty renewal packages, inclusive of slips and cover notes.
· Prepare risk and loss profiles.
· Responsible for the checking of slips / wordings and updating the terms & conditions into our system.
· Attend to queries from clients, reinsurers, and related parties.
· Submission of data to MAS.
· Manage the user acceptance testing for all system enhancements and implementation.
· Assist with administrative matters such as filing and scanning documents to system.

Qualifications
7 to 10 years experience in (Reinsurance) accounting processing. 7 to 10 years experience with a qualification in Insurance preferrred.
