Senior R&D Project Manager

This position will be responsible for driving the development and delivery of innovative medical, nonmedical hearing devices and software applications, associated functions and/or accessories for basic solutions in the market of Asia.

Steers the project towards success, ensuring that all aspects are managed effectively

Ensure that all project activities are aligned with the company's strategic goals and meet the agreed standards of quality and performance.

You will base in Singapore, directly report to VP, R&D Solution and Process.

As a key member of our team, you will lead the functional competency of project teams to achieve agreed deliverables. Your core responsibilities will include:

Project Leadership & Planning

  • Take full ownership of the project's scope, budget, resources, and timeframe as approved by Gatekeepers.
  • Utilize portfolio management tools to plan and control content, resources, and costs in collaboration with the project team.
  • Break down larger initiatives into manageable sub-projects and ensure agreed planning is executed in consultation with competency owners.
  • Facilitate and drive key decisions to successfully complete each Project Stage.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Act as the primary representative for all R&D-related aspects within the project core team.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations by regularly reporting project status to steering boards and the core team.
  • Foster a culture of excellence within the core team and related competency project teams.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally and work closely with the team to review technical and functional topics.

Risk, Compliance & Quality

  • Proactively identify, rate, and manage risks, constraints, and dependencies, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Create, maintain, and deliver up-to-date project documentation in strict accordance with Sonova's standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Contribute to gate preparations and support the creation of intellectual property (IP) while ensuring freedom to operate.

Strategy & Innovation

  • Design comprehensive reliability plans to ensure product quality.
  • Support the assessment of new technology functions in the market.

More about you:

You are a strategic thinker with a passion for driving innovation in a complex, global environment. You thrive on organizational challenges and are comfortable navigating uncertainties with a proactive mindset.

  • Education & Experience: You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering and possess a Project Management certification. You bring over 5 years of experience in engineering or product development (preferably within the medical device industry), including at least 3 years managing complex projects.
  • Leadership & Strategy: You have a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and making decisive, strategic choices. You excel at abstracting and structuring complex problems to drive results.
  • Communication & Collaboration: You are a skilled communicator who can adapt your style to different target groups. You facilitate open negotiation and work seamlessly with diverse behavioural styles in a global setup.
  • Personal Growth: You possess strong self-awareness, regularly reflecting on your behavior to drive personal and professional growth.
  • Skills: You are proficient in English (oral and written) and skilled in MS Office 365.
