Senior R&D Engineer (NPI)

Responsibilities

• Spearhead the design and development of plasma lighting products, collaborating closely with teams to ensure a smooth transition to mass production. Conduct research and competitive analysis to aid in the development of technical roadmaps and innovative designs. Provide technical leadership to manage project timelines and critical paths, aligning with business objectives. Develop and optimize manufacturing processes by evaluating requirements and improving methods and equipment. Offer technical support for production setups and critical parameter definitions, ensuring manufacturability and quality control. Enhance operational efficiency by analyzing workflows and optimizing equipment layouts. Manage customer sample requests and facilitate communication with project management teams. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to maintain product and process quality through rigorous process design and documentation. Lead continuous improvement initiatives leveraging Six Sigma and Lean methodologies. Regularly travel to oversee production lines and support new product initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline an advanced degree is preferred. Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience in R&D, product development, or advanced technology roles within high-energy systems industries. Demonstrated expertise in plasma light source technology and a proven record in managing complex product development cycles. Hands-on experience in experimental design, including data collection and analysis for system optimization. Strong organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of sealing technologies, high-temperature processes, and thermal modeling. Familiarity with manufacturing processes for plasma lighting products. Understanding of Six Sigma principles and their application in project work. Proficiency in AutoCAD is an advantage experience with DFMEA/PFMEA is desirable.
