Senior R&D Electrical, Electronic Hardware Design Engineer
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
System & Sub-system Design
-
Develop and design electrical circuit, panel layout, power contribution unit (PDU) 1-phase/3-phase system, including EMC/EMI filtering and safety interlock circuits for semiconductor R&D equipment.

Integrate motion control hardware (servo/linear drives, encoders, actuators) for high precision and accuracy on overall machine system design.
-
Knowledge in motion control system is preferable.
-
Prepare BOM, electrical schematic layout drawings, test procedure, installation manual and other design documents for design traceability.

Hardware component selection based on thorough understanding of product functionality, application and customer specification.
2.
Compliance & Reliability
-
Ensure system designs meet SEMI S2/S8/F47/E10 and familiar with CE, UL, IEC standards are highly desirable.

Execute FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis) on high-power circuits to suit for cleanroom environment operation.
-
Lead for CE/TUV certification and ensure equipment design compliance with industrial SEMI standard.
3.
R&D & Troubleshooting
-
Support troubleshooting and debugging for any HW and motion-related issue on equipment.

Experienced to utilise oscilloscopes VNAs, spectrum analysers and other tools to resolve any technical problem.

Stay abreast of industry trend and technology advancements to ensure our product remains at competitive edge.

Will travel occasionally to support customer on-site commissioning for first equipment for FAT/SAT completion.
4.
Cross-functional Collaboration
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (MECH, SW, PROCESS) throughout engineering design process for installation, wiring, motion tuning and troubleshooting.

Support and lead assemblyman in transitioning cable harness drawings and panel layouts.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
-
Deep understanding of Industrial Controls Application (PLCs, safety relays, 24V logic, 480VAC).
-
Proficiency in high temp/high power PCB schematic design and PCB layout (plus).
-
Experience with Vacuum Systems (valve control, turbo pump interfacing).
-
Familiarity with comm protocols: EtherCAT/TwinCAT, SECS/GEM, etc. (plus).
-
Working knowledge of Thermal Management (PID control of heaters/cooling application) - preferable.
-
Experienced to work under cleanroom environment.
-
Ability to read complex electrical schematics and I/O diagrams.
-
Systematic root-cause analysis methodology (8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys).
