Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee quantity take-offs and preparation of Bills of Quantities (BQ) for construction projects with accuracy and efficiency
  • Manage the preparation and administration of tender documents, procurement activities, and contract documentation
  • Take responsibility for cost planning, budgeting, tender evaluations, and cost submissions throughout the project lifecycle
  • Prepare and review cost estimates, progress claims, variation orders, contractual claims, and final accounts
  • Monitor project expenditures, analyze cost performance, and implement effective cost control measures to ensure projects remain within budget
  • Administer contracts and provide guidance on contractual matters, claims management, dispute resolution, and compliance with contractual obligations
  • Liaise and coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, site teams, and internal departments on commercial and contractual matters
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations, negotiate commercial terms, and recommend award decisions
  • Review and certify subcontractor and supplier payment claims, including preparation of payment recommendations and supporting documentation
  • Attend and lead site meetings, progress meetings, contractual discussions, and coordination meetings when required
  • Maintain proper documentation and systematic filing of contracts, correspondences, project records, and commercial reports
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior Quantity Surveyors and support team members in project administration and commercial functions
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual requirements, and industry standards
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management

Job Requirements

  • Possess a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, contracts administration, procurement, and cost management within the construction industry
  • Strong experience in tendering, contracts management, variation claims, cost control, and final account settlement
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, PDF measurement software, and Microsoft Offie applications for quantity take-off and project costing
  • Sound knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and commercial practices
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage stakeholders effectively
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and lead within a collaborative team environment
