Role overview
Tender QS prepare accurate cost information, develop tender documents, and support contractor selection. They produce cost estimates, Bills of Quantities, and pre tender budgets aligned with design and financial limits. They coordinate tender invitations, evaluate submissions for compliance and competitiveness, and participate in design discussions to highlight cost impacts. They also contribute to procurement strategy by analyzing market conditions, risks, and pricing trends.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare accurate cost estimates for all project elements, including materials, labour, equipment, and risks.
2. Develop and compile tender documents, including Bills of Quantities (BoQ), specifications, and pricing schedules.
3. Prepare pre tender estimates and ensure alignment with design and budget constraints.
4.Coordinate tender invitations and receipt of tenders with the employer or client.
5. Evaluate tender submissions, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and competitiveness.
6. Attend design and consultant meetings to ensure cost implications are considered early.
7. Assist in procurement strategy formulation, analyzing market conditions and risks.
Skills & Competencies:
. Strong cost planning and analytical skills
. Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
. Knowledge of procurement routes and tendering procedures
. High accuracy in measurement and documentation
. Strong communication for coordination with consultants and clients
. Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM, Photoshop, and MS Office applications to produce accurate project documentation and analyses.
. Ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments to meet project deadlines.

l Preferred competencies and qualifications
l Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or related.
l Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in the (M&E) Industry - Plumbing & Sanitary / Fire Protection / ACMV Industry.
