Job Summary
As a Senior / Quantity Surveyor, you will lead procurement and cost management activities to drive project efficiency and financial control in construction and design-build projects. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to negotiate contracts, manage variations, and ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
Responsibilities
- Source and procure sub-contractors and suppliers by evaluating and comparing pricing to optimize project costs
- Analyze and interpret specifications and drawings to ensure accurate cost loading and project scope understanding
- Prepare detailed cost loading and payment claims for upstream and downstream parties to maintain financial accuracy
- Lead negotiations with upstream and downstream stakeholders on quantities, unit rates, schedules, payment claims, and scope responsibilities to secure favorable contract terms
- Manage correspondence related to contractual and cost issues to resolve disputes and maintain project progress
- Administer sub-contract awards and documentation to ensure compliance and proper contract execution
- File, evaluate, and monitor project variations to control costs and mitigate risks
- Perform value engineering and cost control aligned with design development to maximize project value and efficiency
- Execute ad-hoc duties and assignments to support project and organizational objectives as required
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels to facilitate smooth project delivery
- Manage multiple tasks concurrently and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree in Building Construction, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 7 years of experience in construction or quantity surveying firms with expertise in procurement, quantity surveying, and SOP Act compliance
- Strong knowledge of LTA MRT Works and Design and Build Projects
- Proficient in English and Mandarin to communicate effectively in project and contractual contexts
- Computer literate with ability to use relevant software for cost management and documentation

- Proven interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse teams and stakeholders professionally
- High level of integrity, initiative, proactivity, and analytical problem-solving skills to address complex project challenges
- Ability to work independently and as a team player in a dynamic construction site environment
