A Senior Quantity Surveyor manages all financial and contractual aspects of construction projects. Responsibilities include preparing tenders and cost estimates, administering pre- and post-contract processes, evaluating variation orders and claims, managing project budgets, and mentoring junior team members.
Pre-Contract Management: Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), conduct feasibility studies, source cost estimates, and assemble tender and contract documentation.
Post-Contract Administration: Handle interim valuations, process progress claims, evaluate variation orders, and manage the final account settlement.
Cost Control & Financial Reporting: Monitor project cash flow, compile monthly cost reports, and execute value engineering strategies to reduce expenses.
Contractual Advice & Negotiations: Negotiate with contractors and subcontractors, resolve disputes, and advise on extension of time (EOT) or contractual claims.
Team Leadership: Supervise, guide, and allocate work assignments to junior quantity surveyors and commercial staff.
