Role Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and commercially aware Quantity Surveyor to support the full spectrum of quantity surveying and contract administration activities. The successful candidate will work closely with the construction, QS, and contracts teams to manage tendering processes, subcontract administration, and payment matters across construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the construction team to prepare and compile documentation for Request for Quotations (RFQ) and open tender exercises
Identify and source suitable tenderers and subcontractors, and issue invitations to participate in RFQ and tender processes
Manage queries and clarifications between tenderers and the construction team throughout the RFQ stage, ensuring accurate and consistent communication
Coordinate and facilitate post-tender interviews involving tenderers, the construction team, QS team, and contracts team
Assist the QS Manager and Contracts Manager in all quantity surveying matters pertaining to Sub-Contracts, Works Orders, and Purchase Orders
Support the contracts team in the day-to-day administration of subcontracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions
Process and evaluate payment requests received from subcontractors and suppliers in an accurate and timely manner
Undertake any other ad hoc tasks and duties as assigned by the QS Manager or Contracts Manager
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying and subcontract administration within the construction industry
Possession of relevant tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Contract and Construction Law is required
Prior experience with large-scale process-related construction projects is an advantage
Sound knowledge of tendering procedures, subcontract administration, and cost management practices
Familiar with the preparation and evaluation of RFQs, Bills of Quantities, and contract documentation
Good understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines concurrently
Good communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
