Job Summary
You will manage quantity surveying tasks including cost estimation, contract negotiation, and budget control to support successful project delivery in a civil engineering construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze drawings and specifications to ensure accurate quantity surveying and cost estimation
- Prepare and issue documents for quotations, then compare and evaluate supplier and subcontractor bids to support cost-effective decisions
- Negotiate contract terms and prices with subcontractors and suppliers to optimize project budgets
- Measure quantities and perform cost take-offs to maintain accurate budget control throughout projects
- Prepare variation orders, claims, final accounts, and manage subcontractor payments to ensure timely and accurate financial settlements
- Assist in tender submissions and provide clarifications to support competitive bidding processes
- Apply professional contract administration and legal knowledge to manage contract compliance and risk
- Manage multiple tasks independently with meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem-solving to meet tight deadlines
- Collaborate effectively with team members to support project objectives and deliverables
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree or Diploma in quantity surveying or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering construction
- Proficient knowledge of PSSCOC, LTA's SDRE requirements, and other relevant agency standards
- Strong understanding of professional practice, contract administration, and contract law
- Proven skills in contract negotiation, administration, and managing variation orders
