Senior Quantity Surveyor (QS)
Manages the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring cost efficiency, contractual compliance, accurate valuation of works, and timely project financial reporting while supporting successful project delivery.
Job Description:
1. Cost Planning & Budget Control
Prepare project cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans.
Monitor project expenditure vs budget.
Conduct cost forecasting and financial risk assessment.
Advise management on cost optimization strategies.
2. Tender & Procurement Management
Review tender drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
Prepare tender submissions, BOQs, and pricing strategies.
Evaluate subcontractor quotations and negotiate pricing.
Prepare subcontract agreements and LOA documentation.
3. Contract Administration
Interpret contract terms, identify risks, and ensure compliance.
Manage variations, claims, and contractual correspondence.
Handle dispute avoidance and commercial negotiations.
Maintain proper documentation and records.
4. Progress Claims & Payment Certification
Prepare monthly progress claims to clients.
Evaluate subcontractor claims and certify payments.
Track cash flow projections and payment schedules.
Follow up outstanding payments and final account settlement.
5. Project Cost Monitoring
Conduct site measurements and valuation of works done.
Monitor variation orders and additional works.
Ensure cost control throughout project lifecycle.
Provide regular commercial reports to management.
6. Final Account Settlement
Prepare final accounts with clients ad subcontractors.
Ensure documentation completeness for claim justification.
Resolve commercial disputes where necessary.
