Your Job

As a Senior Engineer in Quality (MQA) at Molex, you will play a pivotal role in driving quality excellence across subcontractor manufacturing operations. You will lead the development and execution of strategic quality plans, apply your technical expertise to resolve complex quality issues, and ensure compliance with quality management systems. This role demands a proactive approach to continuous improvement, working closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to meet customer expectations and uphold Molex's commitment to superior product quality and operational efficiency.

Our Team

You will be part of the DSS division in Singapore, reporting to the Principal Engineer, Quality. Our team collaborates closely with various internal departments, external subcontractors, and customers to maintain high-quality standards and drive operational excellence.

What You Will Do

  • Monitor key quality indicators closely and initiate, deploy, and implement plans to achieve set goals.
  • Execute high-level quality strategic plans from self, supervisor, or management.
  • Lead the team in analyzing daily process issues, driving improvements in assembly/component scrap and yield, and engage Product Engineers early in product development.
  • Provide disposition for in-process, outgoing, incoming rejects, and non-conforming customer returns, with authority to block suspect stocks and stop shipment to prevent defective deliveries.
  • Analyze process weaknesses and quality data, collaborating with internal departments and external subcontractors on improvement plans.
  • Create, review, and update inspection SOPs, checklists, control plans, and special inspection instructions regularly.
  • Review and maintain quality management system procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Investigate customer complaints, facilitate root cause analysis, containment, corrective actions, and verify their effectiveness using quality tools and SPC where needed.
  • Liaise with upstream and downstream process engineers to resolve quality issues.
  • Plan and conduct routine process line, customer, and supplier audits, ensuring audit readiness.
  • Perform regular MSA (GR&R) on equipment and operators as needed.
  • Implement error-proofing initiatives and design process qualification plans, including tool qualification, test plans, validations, 4M1H analysis, rework, and sorting methods.
  • Apply PBM guiding principles to influence behavior and decision-making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering or related discipline (Degree preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality engineering or related roles.
  • Proven supervisory experience leading and managing quality teams.
  • Proficient in QC core tools, SPC, 8D reporting, control plans, PFMEA, APQP.
  • Knowledgeable in quality standards such as ISO 9001, TS16949, PPAP.
  • Skilled in MS Office, basic GD&T or technical drawing interpretation, and QMS auditing.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and statistical skills.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with statistical software such as Minitab and SAP.
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical tools and process improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with automotive or electronics manufacturing environments.
