Responsibilities:
- Report to Head of Engineering
- Support and oversee site QA/QC team on quality control and safety matters and to ensure Environmental, Safety & Health (EHS) practices are carried out at all times and identify high risks safety hazard activities before construction and approval of Method Statements
- Develop and execute rigorous test plans to validate the functionality, performance, and safety
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address quality concerns throughout the lifecycle
- Staying up-to-date with industry best practices and technologies to continuously improve our quality assurance processes
- Lead ISO9001, bizSAFE, external and internal audits
- Develop detailed inspection plans for construction components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, engineering specifications, and regulatory standards
- Lead and collaborate with design and engineering teams to define the most appropriate inspection methods and criteria
- Develop and establish acceptance criteria and tolerances for construction based on engineering drawings, material specifications, and industry standards
- Develop and maintain detailed inspection reports, documentation, and records, ensuring that all inspection activities are traceable and compliant with regulatory requirements
- Develop inspection records that support traceability and certification
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, ensuring that all QA/QC and company personnel are trained and knowledgeable about relevant protocols
- Investigate and perform root cause analysis for any quality issues or inspection failures
- Lead initiatives to improve inspection processes, reduce inspection times, and increase the accuracy and reliability of inspections
- Participate in customer acceptance tests such as Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) / Site Acceptance Test (SAT) / Installation, Testing & Commissioning (ITC), address quality-related issues, and document feedback to prevent recurrence
- Liaise with authorities i.e., BCA on assessment to achieve target QA/QC score, LTA on inspections and compliances, etc.
- Lead and train site QA/QC teams on quality requirements, root cause prevention, and proper handling practices
- Assess training effectiveness and maintain training and competency records
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a QA/QC Engineer or similar role
- Proficiency in developing and executing test plans
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and diagnose complex issues
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Familiarity with quality assurance methodologies and measuring equipment
- Familiar in conducting quality audits and surveillances; and proficient in the concepts of construction productivity, sustainability and QA/QC
- Certifications: BCA-Approved CONQUAS training or relevant quality certification such as ISO 9001:2015 in Quality Management Systems will be an advantage
- Good knowledge of construction quality control/assurance is an added advantage
- Experience completing 2 project cycles is an added advantage
