QA Automation Engineer Electronic Trading (FX)

We're working with a well-established electronic trading business in Singapore that sits at the heart of global FX markets. They're looking to hire a QA Automation Engineer to help scale and strengthen the quality of a mission-critical trading platform used by institutional clients.
This is a hands-on role where automation genuinely matters. You'll be building and evolving frameworks, working closely with engineers and product teams, and playing a key part in ensuring reliability across front-office trading systems.
What you'll be doing
- Designing, building, and enhancing automation frameworks for new and existing features
- Writing and maintaining automated test scripts across functional and regression testing
- Configuring and managing test environments
- Analysing test results, maintaining logs, and producing test reports
- Clearly documenting defects, including reproduction steps and supporting data
- Collaborating closely with developers, QA leads, product managers, and support teams
- Supporting investigation of production issues when required
- Ensuring all enhancements and fixes are properly tested and validated
What they're looking for
- 35 years experience in test automation, or a strong development background with an automation focus
- Strong Java and/or Python skills, ideally in Linux-based environments
- Experience with modern automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, QFTest, or similar
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and source control (Git)
- Experience working on front-office trading systems, FX experience is a strong plus
- Understanding of FIX protocol and how it's used in trading environments
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Nice to have
- A passion for reducing manual testing through smart automation
- Understanding of the test automation pyramid
- Experience with TDD and agile delivery environments
