Position Summary
We are seekinga highly experienced Senior QA/QC Engineer to support a major Plant Turnaround / Shutdown project. This is a senior technical role requiringextensive experience in quality assurance, quality control, welding inspection,mechanical integrity, and turnaround execution within operating process plants.
The successfulcandidate must be capable of independently managing QA/QC activities, reviewinginspection and test plans, overseeing contractors, and performing weldinginspection duties where required.

This positionis intended for a seasoned QA/QC professional who can serve as the project'ssenior quality focal point and perform welding inspection duties when required.Candidates without significant turnaround experience, recognised weldinginspection certification, or the minimum years of experience will not beconsidered.
KeyResponsibilities
- Lead QA/QC activities during plant turnaround and shutdown execution.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, international codes, and industry standards.
- Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality procedures, method statements, and inspection records.
- Conduct surveillance and audits of contractors and subcontractors.
- Perform or witness inspections for welding, piping, static equipment, pressure vessels, tanks, structural steel, and mechanical works.
- Verify welding qualifications, WPS, PQR, welder qualifications, and NDT requirements.
- Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, Construction, and Client QA/QC teams.
- Monitor turnaround quality performance and identify areas requiring corrective action.
- Review NDT reports, material certificates, test records, punch lists, and turnover dossiers.
- Participate in root cause investigations and quality-related non-conformance resolution.
- Ensure all quality documentation is completed and handed over in accordance with project requirements.
MandatoryRequirements
- Minimum 20 years of QA/QC experience in onshore refinery, petrochemical, chemical, LNG, power generation, or process plant facilities.
- Minimum 10 years of experience supporting Plant Turnaround / Shutdown projects.
- Demonstrated experience in both Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions.
- Certified Welding Inspector qualification such as:
- CSWIP 3.1 or higher
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- BGAS Welding Inspector
- Equivalent internationally recognised certification
- Extensive knowledge of:
- ASME Codes
- API Standards
- ASTM Standards
- ISO Quality Systems
- Welding Inspection Requirements
- NDT Methods and Acceptance Criteria
- Experience inspecting:
- Pressure Vessels
- Heat Exchangers
- Columns and Towers
- Storage Tanks
- Piping Systems
- Structural Steel
- Rotating Equipment
- Strong understanding of welding processes, PWHT, material traceability, flange management, hydrotesting, and mechanical completion systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, welding drawings, fabrication records, and quality dossiers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, or related discipline.
- Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001) preferred.
- Additional NDT certifications (PT, MT, UT, RT) advantageous.
- Previous experience working directly for refinery, petrochemical, LNG, or major operating companies.
