The Role

You'll own QA/QC delivery across the full lifecycle of a project — from material verification and fabrication inspection through pressure testing and final documentation — working closely with clients, PMT, subcontractors, and notifying bodies to ensure every weld, joint, and system meets code, spec, and Gradiant's own standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Testing

  • Perform visual, fit-up, and material inspections against drawings, WPS, MDR, and MIL certificates.
  • Verify cutting plans against actual material cutting and monitor NDE coverage against project requirements.
  • Review piping pressure test packs and compile weld and material summary reports.
  • Conduct site inspections at subcontractor workshops and coordinate witness inspections with clients and third parties.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure construction quality aligns with the approved Project Quality Plan, applicable codes, and client specifications.
  • Raise NCRs for non-compliance, determine material disposition, and drive corrective and preventive actions to closure.
  • Lead QA/QC audits and surveillance to catch issues early and prevent costly rework.
  • Keep calibration records for measuring tools current and drawings at the latest revision.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain the full QA/QC record set — certificates, calibration logs, test results, inspection requests, and site instructions.
  • Issue daily RFIs, compile final documentation for client acceptance, and submit weekly reports to the QC Supervisor.

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Represent Gradiant in construction and technical meetings, client quality walks, and daily toolbox talks.
  • Liaise with the QA/QC Manager, notifying bodies, vendors, and subcontractors to keep quality aligned across every discipline.
  • Deliver quality orientation sessions for piping to PMT, QC, and subcontractor teams.

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Uphold HSE requirements on-site and contribute to weekly safety briefings.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of QA/QC experience on multi-discipline EPC projects.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector or CSWIP 3.1 certification preferred.
  • Solid grasp of QMS, welding inspection, and piping fabrication/installation testing requirements.
  • Working familiarity with conventional NDT methods.
  • Strong drawing and specification literacy, with sharp attention to detail.
  • Clear communicator, comfortable working independently in a fast-moving, start-up-paced environment.
