The role of a Psychologist/Senior Psychologist in the Service Development team of Care Services will play a key role in the development and implementation of new psychological services at Dementia Singapore, as well as providing clinical services within a community-based dementia setting.
Job Responsibilities
Service Development & Stakeholder Engagement
- Implement and formalize new psychological services within the organization - (1) non-medical mental capacity assessments for Lasting Power of Attorney or Court-Appointed Deputyship applications, and (2) evidence-based psychological interventions for persons with dementia.
- Build and maintain networks with relevant agencies and stakeholders to support the development of the new services.
- Represent the organization in stakeholders engagements and community collaborations.
- Facilitate the administrative and operational processes with the mental capacity assessment and psychotherapy workgroups.
Clinical Services
- Provide evidence-based psychological interventions for persons with dementia and their carers, including crisis interventions.
- Conduct clinical interviews and mental capacity assessments, and prepare timely mental capacity assessment reports.
- Provide clinical consultations, case reviews and contribute to collaborative practices within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Organize learning circles with community partners and colleagues in DSG to facilitate learning and knowledge exchange in mental capacity assessments, LPA and CAD applications, as well as therapy for persons with dementia.
- Facilitate group supervisions for associate psychologists and/or interns.
Others
- Manage and review client data for service evaluation and reporting in accordance to organization's and funding requirements.
Requirements
- At least a Master degree in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Min 2 years of experience in dementia or elder care is preferred.
- SRP-registered psychologist.
- Experience working with persons with dementia and their families, as well as older adults is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel to different locations in Singapore.
- Willingness to conduct home visits and therapyor assessment sessions on weekday evenings and Saturdays.
