Job - Senior Project Manager (OSS) Offshore Wind
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of an Offshore Substation (OSS) package within a major offshore wind project. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of offshore wind infrastructure, proven leadership in managing complex EPC/EPCI scopes, and a strong track record in delivering large-scale energy infrastructure projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the full lifecycle delivery of the OSS package, from design and procurement through fabrication, installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Act as the single point of accountability for all OSS-related activities within the wider offshore wind project.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, contractors, consultants, certification bodies, and regulatory authorities.
- Oversee contract management, including EPC/EPCI scopes, ensuring adherence to contract terms, performance metrics, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead interface management with related project packages such as export cables, foundations, WTG array, and onshore grid connection.
- Drive compliance with HSE standards, environmental regulations, and project-specific quality requirements.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and progress reports for senior management and project governance bodies.
- Facilitate effective change control processes and project governance.
- Support permitting and consenting activities as relevant to OSS scope.
Key Requirements:
Essential:
- Degree-qualified in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years experience in project management within offshore wind, oil & gas, or large-scale infrastructure.
- Demonstrated success in delivering offshore substations or similar high-voltage electrical infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of marine construction, fabrication, HV electrical systems, and offshore logistics.
- Strong contract management skills, particularly with EPC/EPCI contracts.
- Proven leadership and communication abilities in multi-disciplinary and international project teams.
- Knowledge of industry standards, health and safety regulations, and offshore certification processes (e.g. DNV, Lloyds Register).
Desirable:
- Experience with multi-GW scale offshore wind projects.
- Familiarity with relevant software tools (e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP).
- Project Management certification (e.g. PMP, APM, PRINCE2).
- Experience working with transmission operators (TOs) and grid connection processes.
