Job Summary

Megamind Consulting is hiring a Senior Project Manager - MES / OT-IT Program Lead for a regional APAC role supporting a global Manufacturing Execution System implementation and industrial data integration program.

The selected consultant will be responsible for day-to-day project execution, site coordination, vendor management, program governance, and stakeholder communication across manufacturing technology workstreams. This role requires strong experience in MES implementation, manufacturing operations, OT/IT convergence, and systems integrator management.

This is a hands-on project leadership role, not a generic IT PM or PMO-only position. The candidate must be able to work closely with manufacturing site teams, systems integrators, MES platform vendors, OT teams, IT teams, and global program leadership. The client brief specifically states that candidates must have worked inside an MES implementation or operational digitization program, not merely around it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate MES implementation activities across regional manufacturing sites.

  • Manage day-to-day execution of MES-related workstreams including production order execution, recipe management, shop floor data collection, shift reporting, OEE tracking, and MES integration.

  • Coordinate with global program leadership, site operations teams, systems integrators, MES platform vendors, OT teams, and IT stakeholders.

  • Track project milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, actions, and decisions.

  • Maintain RAID logs, project plans, governance trackers, steering committee updates, and executive reporting.

  • Manage systems integrator and vendor deliverables, ensuring accountability against scope, timeline, and quality expectations.

  • Act as a bridge between Operational Technology and Information Technology teams.

  • Support OT/IT integration areas such as PLC, SCADA, historian, edge layer, data platform, UNS, MQTT, or similar industrial connectivity environments.

  • Support go-live readiness, cutover planning, issue escalation, deployment coordination, and post-go-live stabilization.

  • Work under a global program structure while independently driving regional coordination and execution.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong direct experience in Manufacturing Execution System implementation or manufacturing digitization programs.

  • Prior hands-on exposure to MES workstreams such as:

    • Recipe management

    • Production order execution

    • Shop floor data collection

    • Shift reporting

    • OEE tracking

    • MES-to-ERP or MES-to-LIMS integration

  • Experience with MES platforms.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing shop floor operations, including shifts, production schedules, downtime events, quality holds, and plant-level execution.

  • Working knowledge of OT/IT convergence, ISA-95, Purdue Model, industrial connectivity, PLC/SCADA data flows, edge layer, historian, data platform, or Unified Namespace architecture.

  • Experience managing systems integrators or implementation vendors from the client side.

  • Strong project governance experience including milestone tracking, RAID management, steering committee reporting, escalation management, and executive communication.

  • PMP certification or equivalent demonstrated project governance experience.

  • Ability to be productive with minimal ramp-up time.

The role requires credible manufacturing and OT/IT experience, including familiarity with shop floor data flows, PLC/SCADA environments, edge layers, historians, UNS, MQTT, OPC-UA, or similar platforms.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with a manufacturing company's digital or operational technology team, where you have coordinated MES implementations, OT/IT integration projects, or plant digitization programs as the client-side PM or program coordinator.

  • Experience with Unified Namespace architecture, MQTT brokers, Ignition, Kepware, Litmus Edge, or similar industrial edge/connectivity platforms.

  • Background in CPG, specialty chemicals, food & beverage, industrial manufacturing, automotive, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.

  • Experience in OEE measurement, loss analysis, or manufacturing performance improvement programs.

  • CPIM / APICS certification or Six Sigma Black Belt will be an advantage.

  • Experience working in regional or global manufacturing transformation programs.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate may come from:

  • A manufacturing company's digital operations, plant technology, OT, or IT team.

  • A systems integrator or MES platform vendor delivering MES programs for manufacturing clients.

  • A manufacturing-focused consulting firm supporting plant digitization, MES, OT/IT, or operational technology programs.

The ideal candidate should be structured, execution-focused, confident with manufacturing stakeholders, and able to communicate effectively with both technical and business teams.

Profiles Not Suitable

This role is not suitable for candidates whose experience is mainly in:

  • Generic enterprise IT project management without manufacturing exposure.

  • PMO-only governance roles without direct MES implementation involvement.

  • Network, infrastructure, endpoint, WAN, cloud migration, or cybersecurity transformation projects only.

  • MarTech, web platform, consumer digital, or digital channel project management.

  • Agile Scrum Master / SAFe coach roles without manufacturing execution experience.

  • ERP-only project management without MES or shop floor digitization exposure.

The brief clearly excludes enterprise IT-only, PMO-only, infrastructure-only, MarTech, Agile-only, and ERP-only profiles for this requirement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Information Systems, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

  • 10+ years of overall project/program management experience.

  • Strong experience in manufacturing technology, MES, OT/IT, plant digitization, or industrial systems implementation.

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
